We woke up in the morning to go to gorge walking and it was a 2 hour drive to the gorge.
On the way to the gorge we stopped in a town called Kenmore which had Scotland’s oldest inn.

Once we got there we signed in but it was too early and we didn’t get to have any food yet so we went to the nearest town (which was called Killin) and had lunch of ham and cheese baked potatoes at a restaurant named Shutters.

Charlotte:
To get ready for gorge walking, we had to put on our bathing suits and tight wetsuits, which would help to keep us warm, and life jackets. We meet our guide. He was nice and his name was Davey.

He first took us to run into the lake and float on our backs because the wetsuits don’t work well until they’re wet. It was a little awkward feeling but I got used to it. It was still a little cold on the body and our hands were freezing.
Then we got out of the lake and walked to the gorge. Davey taught us how to walk like a gorilla on the slippery rocks in the shallow water to help us fall forwards.

We got into the gorge and started walking. It was fun but pretty hard. We reached our first waterfall. We learned how to climb it, using the sticky black moss. We had to find hand and foot holds. Climbing the waterfalls was easier because the day water moved the little slippery rocks out of the way. Davey taught us that tiny whirlpools make round holes in the rock over time.

The water was so cold and fresh. It came from a spring and we were allowed to drink right from the waterfalls! The final waterfall was really big. It was called Niagara Falls!

Gorge walking was two hours long. I loved it so much! We all had some bruises but we all had fun. I was sad when it was over.

Taking our wetsuits off was easier than putting them on. I was so cold and so was Sam. It took awhile to get warm.
Dad and Mom took some pictures of the waterfalls we climbed and then we drove home.
For supper, Mom made butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. It was delicious. Then we saw fireworks right from the kitchen window. They were being set off because of the big golf tournament.

Another great memory for your treasure chest of experiences. I think you all had a great time.
